Welcome to Giraffe Class!
Your class teachers are Miss Lewis and Miss Xia.
Welcome to the Giraffe Class. Where children thrive in a safari of learning, curiosity and play. I am Miss Lewis the class teacher, and my favourite subjects are Science, Maths and English - though I enjoy teaching all subjects! Mrs Xia is our wonderful TA, she is fantastic at supporting the children, particularly in phonics.
In our nurturing classroom, children build the skills and knowledge they need to progress in learning, while having fun through investigations, exploration, questioning, teaching and play. Both Mrs Xia and I, take great pride in reading progress as reading in Year One and Two is a vital skill that supports all children across all areas of the curriculum. It also opens their imagination and knowledge, helping them to explore the world around them.
We cannot do this alone, and we truly value working alongside parents to support children with home reading. The most rewarding part of this special key stage is seeing how fluent and confident children become as readers. We are looking forward to an exciting year full of imagination, creativity and wonderful learning!
