Welcome to Armadillo Class!
Your class teachers are Mr Finburg (Monday – Tuesday) and Mrs Ashby (Tuesday- Friday). Miss Brindley, our teaching assistant, works with you every morning.
A very warm welcome to Armadillo Class! We are so excited for the year ahead and all the learning, adventures and opportunities that await us.
We have been busy setting the foundations for a happy, respectful and successful classroom. We are getting to know one another, establishing our routines and learning what it means to be a fantastic member of Armadillo Class.
We are using our SHINE behaviours and HERO values to help guide us. These give us a shared language for thinking about how we learn, how we treat others and how we can let our light shine every day.
🐌 Meet Our Class Pets!
We are very lucky to have some African Land Snails as our class pets! The children have already been enjoying getting to know them and have even been using their mathematical skills to measure them.
So far, some children have discovered that our snails are 12cm, 13cm and 14cm long! We are looking forward to learning more about these fascinating creatures and taking good care of them throughout the year.
🏛️ Our First Topic: Ancient Greece
Our overarching History topic this term is Ancient Greece.
We will be exploring what life was like in Ancient Greece, investigating the fascinating civilisation they created and discovering how Ancient Greek ideas, achievements and culture have influenced the world we live in today.
There will be plenty of opportunities for the children to question, investigate, discuss and make connections as historians.
🏃 PE
Our PE day is Monday, taught by Mr Finburg.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning together in Armadillo Class. We will be encouraging every child to be honest, engaged, respectful and open-minded, celebrate their successes and remember that we can all learn, grow and let our light shine! ✨
